make extra money taking surveys

Make Extra Money Taking Surveys [yes, it’s real!]

If you love giving your opinion, then do I have a money-making opportunity for you!

There are several survey sites that you can sign up for online. Once you sign up, you will begin getting emails alerting you of the surveys they have available. You can take the surveys and earn points which can eventually be cashed out for money.

The amount of money you make will vary and you may not qualify for every survey. However, if you do enough of these, you will start to generate extra income that will help you out financially.

If you are looking for survey sites you can sign up with to make extra money, here are a few I recommend.

Swagbucks: Swagbucks is a site that offers third party surveys which can pay out in gift cards, sweepstakes and PayPal payments.  Some sites Swagbucks sends you to are better than others and it can take a while before you start earning points but, once you do, payouts can be quite rewarding.

Inbox Dollars: Inbox Dollars is recommended because you get a $5 bonus after signing up. However, payouts are relatively low averaging around 41 cents an hour.

Opinion Outpost: Opinion Outpost is an easy to use survey site with a straightforward points system. Taking surveys on the site can bring in an average of $1.50 per hour which can be cashed out on Amazon.

My Points: This site offers several survey opportunities. However, there is a high disqualification rate and the pay rate is relatively low.

Toluna: Toluna offers users the option of picking surveys that interest them which makes the site fun to use. However, pay outs tend to be low.

Global Test Market: Global Test Market has several survey opportunities available and a good payout rate. One common complaint is that there are often late stage disqualifications.

My Survey: This site is known for providing an easy to use interface and a high qualification rate. However, it is difficult to hit the minimum payout amount.

One Opinion: One Opinion is known for providing a screening process that helps you find surveys you are qualified for. However, you need to rack up a lot of points to get any sort of cash value and you will need a considerable amount of points before you can cash out.

i-Say: Unlike most survey sites which are aggregator sites, this site only provides surveys through Ipsos, the market research firm that owns it. Therefore, there are fewer surveys, but you are able to stay on the site to take all the surveys making the process easier.

VIP Voice: This site offers relevant surveys, a high qualification rate and a good user experience. However, payouts are limited to bids on auction items and sweepstakes entries so not every user will be happy with the compensation they get.

Survey Junkie: Perhaps the most highly recommended of all aggregator survey sites, this site is easy to use, and it has a high point value for every survey you complete. However, you must get to 1000 points before you can cash out.

Focus Groups

Similar to surveys, focus groups also pay you for sharing your opinion. They are used to determine people’s attitudes towards new or existing products in regard to their branding, usability, packaging and more. In comparison to an online survey, a focus group is much more in depth and it can last 1-2 hours. It also pays considerably more money.

Focus groups can be conducted in person or online. An in person focus group will require you to commute to the focus group’s office, sit with a small group and give your opinion on the product at hand. The group is led by a moderator.

Online focus groups work in a similar fashion, but participants are asked to join an online chat to provide their opinions.

The amount of money you will make from participating in a focus group will vary but you can generally make anywhere from $50-500.

You can do online research (with Google) to find online focus groups as well as focus groups in your area. Just make sure to check reviews before signing up to avoid scammers.

Surveys and focus groups can be a great way to bring in extra income and, if you find the right companies to work with, it can be an enjoyable experience as well. Explore your options to determine if this is a money-making opportunity that is right for you.
